16:11 We put out to sea ⁴  from Troas ⁵  and sailed a straight course ⁶  to Samothrace, ⁷  the next day to Neapolis, ⁸

20:5 These had gone on ahead ⁹  and were waiting for us in Troas. ¹⁰  20:6 We ¹¹  sailed away from Philippi ¹²  after the days of Unleavened Bread, ¹³  and within five days ¹⁴  we came to the others ¹⁵  in Troas, ¹⁶  where we stayed for seven days.

[16:8]  ¹ tn Although the normal meaning for παρέρχομαι (parercomai) is “pass by, go by,” it would be difficult to get to Troas from where Paul and his companions were without going through rather than around Mysia. BDAG 776 s.v. παρέρχομαι 6 list some nonbiblical examples of the meaning “go through, pass through,” and give that meaning for the usage here.

[16:8]  ³ sn Troas was a port city (and surrounding region) on the northwest coast of Asia Minor, near ancient Troy.

It was later combined with Passover (Exod 12:1-20; Ezek 45:21-24; Matt 26:17; Luke 22:1).
